| Cream bacon fat with sugar until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Beat in molasses. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to first mixture, beating until smooth. Pour in oven (350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cut in squares and serve warm with whipped cream and a sprinkling of candied ginger or serve cold. makes 12 servings. | |
