The Neverending Story

The Neverending Story was one of those spectacular fantasy adventure movies from the nostalgic year of 1984. The story is about a young boy named Bastian (Barret Oliver), who was a loner and a daydreamer. None of the kids at school liked him and he often got bullied. However, his one passion was reading and this lead him one day to a bookstore where he 'borrowed' the enchanted novel entitled, 'The Never Ending Story'.

Bastian sealed himself inside an eerie attic in his school and began reading the mysterious book. It lead him into a world of fantasy with strange creatures and amazing places. This was the start of his exciting adventure to stop the menacing 'Nothing' that threatened to destroy the magical realm of Fantasia. As he read on, he learned that a brave young warrior named Atreyu (Noah Hathaway), had been sent on a dangerous mission to find a cure for the Childlike Empress (Tami Stronach), the ruler of the realm.

All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, "Oh, why can't you remain like this for ever!" This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end.
